Karen P Woodfield
Visual Artist
My art practice focuses on the creative process, materiality and experimentation, and using various materials, such as plaster, paper, textiles, and digital images. I prioritise the process of making rather than the final outcomes, resulting in small 3D pieces. By using randomisation in my work, I aim to question and provoke the decision-making process in art. Through my work, I raise important questions about what we value and how we can learn about ourselves through the act of creating. I am also interested in exploring the impact of my local environment on my art. I thrive when collaborating with others and have incorporated a socially engaged element into my art practice as well as by teaching art and craft in the community.
Art and craft tutor
My Art and Craft workshops provide an opportunity for creative self-expression and learning new skills. Our small group sessions foster a sense of well-being while encouraging creativity and exploration of new techniques. As an experienced tutor, I will guide you through the process, helping you to unlock your creative potential and create something unique. Most importantly is the sense of enjoyment and fun alongside meeting new people who love to be creative.
